We are proud to say we are continuing this part of Belgium's rich food history!

​For the anecdote, the story of French fries back to 1680 in Belgium: the People living in Namur, Andenne and Dinant were used to fish in the Meuse and fry the small fish to improve their diet. But when the frost seized rivers and fishing became risky, people cut up the potatoes in the form of small fish and spent frying. 

 

As for the term "French fries", it comes from the Irish "to french" that ment "to cut in sticks", American allies, landing in the Belgian Ardennes, have tasted our incomparable "Frites" and named it "French fries"

Anyway:  French fries are Belgian!
